Job Description
Rush Creek Yacht Club located on Lake Ray Hubbard in beautiful Heath Texas is looking to immediately hire a head coach/program manager to manage and promote our junior sailing program year round. The individual hired for this position will work with our Vice Commodore of Education and Board of Directors to achieve the following goals:

Operate our junior sailing program in a safe and professional manner at all times.

Administer and coach our junior sailing program consisting of beginning sailing to advanced racing training on C420’s, Lasers, Optimists, etc.

Manage and coach our extensive Summer Camps program and Spring Break Clinic/Camp.

Continue our reach into the local community to introduce people to the sport of sailing and teach them to love sailing.

Communicate positively and effectively with our junior sailors, parents and the Board of Directors.

Maintain our message of fun, safety, and learning in every sailing activity.

Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Job Requirements
We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications to start immediately:

US Sailing Level 1 and 2 certifications. If candidate is not level 2 certified, must be willing to take US Sailing Level 2 Instructor Workshop when available.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Safe powerboat training
Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Racing coaching experience
Community/College sailing experience desired
High level of initiative and integrity
Minor boat repair and maintenance
Excellent communication and organization skills
Regatta or event planning

This is a salaried, year-round position with medical insurance benefits. Time commitments will vary throughout the year. During the spring and fall, you will be required to run 2-5 practices, possibly more per week after school and on weekends. Our program competes in the Texas Sailing Association youth circuit as well as some National regattas. Travel and/or regatta attendance is required on regatta weekends. During the summer, managing and coaching our racing and community programs will be more than a full-time commitment. During the off-season time requirements will be less but task based work is expected such as planning classes, boat maintenance with minor repairs, and improving/developing curriculum.
