Job Description
Come teach sailing and live in Brooklyn, New York. We provide accommodation for the right individual.

ONE15 Brooklyn Sail Club (BSC), located in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Sailing Operations to primarily oversee its sailing school program. ONE15 Brooklyn Sail Club is a fully integrated sailing club and sailing school offering education, cruising and weekday evening and weekend racing. We have a new fleet of Melges 24s and J/80s.

We are part of a larger project in Brooklyn that includes marina operations, food services and a floating sailing center.

This person needs to be a strong leader, communicator, skilled sailor, and have great management skills who is seeking the challenge to drive membership growth. The most desirable applicant will have a background in hospitality and education as well. In addition to teaching our US Sailing Basic Keelboat curriculum on the weekends, this person will also help in the development and execution of other adult sailing/racing programs, corporate events and new teen sailing programs during the week.

As the Assistant Director of Sailing Operations, the person will support the Director of Sailing Operations to cover all aspects of the sail club business, including member recruitment and training, fleet maintenance and commissioning and decommissioning. Other activities include including marketing, designing curriculum, instructor education and designing performance indicators.

This is a full time season position in Brooklyn, NY (April to mid-November). We can provide seasonal accommodation in the New York area for the right individual.
Job Requirements

Additional qualifications or skills required: USCG OUPV credentials or higher, RYA, ASA or US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Certification or higher, and prior sailing coach experience.

Desired skills: Performance sailing, race committee and protest committee experience would be helpful.
