Job Description
Vineyard Haven Yacht Club, located in Vineyard Haven MA on Martha's Vineyard, is searching for a Club Manager. VHYC is a seasonal club (~6/15 - 9/15) but the role is year round. The club operates a competitive sailing program that has a fleet of 12 420's, lasers, open bics and Sonars for adult sailing. Additionally we have an excellent tennis program, and a general beach front environment for our members. We do have a kitchen but do not serve dinner and do not have a bar or liquor license. VHYC prides itself on its fun and friendly atmosphere and is committed to creating a family environment that allows all ages to enjoy the club.

Our manager is to be responsible for the management of all aspects of the club, including management of administrative and coaching staff (~35 people in season). This leader is responsible for member satisfaction, management of the junior and adult sailing programs, moorage management, club finances, motivating and leading volunteers, marketing, along with some food & beverage services accountability.
Additionally there are off season events that need to be managed.

VHYC does not provide housing on the island but does have medical beneifits.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have experience in club management (preferably non-profit), and a passion for boating. This position will report directly to the Commodore and The Executive Committee and will work towards the goals established by the membership. The full time Manager will be responsible for all aspects of general management of the club, including management of administrative and coaching staff. The following requirements would accelerate the winning candidate’s impact to the organization:
--Successful Management and Leadership experience
--Be a true self-starter that needs little guidance
--IT proficiency including a working knowledge of finanvial software
--Demonstrable superior communication skills both written and verbal
--Have excellent organizational skills
--Exposure to sailboat race management
--Strong boating background
--ideally a working knowledge of boat and building maintenance
--Undergraduate Degree
