Job Description
The Director of Community Outreach is key position that acts as our educational programs coordinator, oversees our web and media presence and assists the dockmaster. The position is funded primarily through the Sailing Association but also through the College of Charleston PE and Human Development department and reports to the Director of Sailing.

The CofC Sailing Association has been in operation for over 50 years but has grown significantly over the last 10 years through strategic partnerships with organizations such as Warrior Sailing and through the addition of a youth summer program offering youth advanced dinghy sailing, learn to sail and STEM camps as well as adult classes. We are seeking an individual that is passionate about our sport, and is ready to continue growing our presence through creative and workable programs that we can offer locally, regionally and nationally. This position will be a key decision maker and will help build the long term vision for our program.

Qualifications - US Sailing Instructor Certification, Teaching and Program Management, Website and Social Media Management, Undergraduate Degree, Extensive Sailing Experience and a Great Attitude.

The College of Charleston Sailing Team is one of the top intercollegiate sailing programs in the country. The Sailing Association shares a facility with the Team and serves the local community by providing access to the water, quality training and boats. The Stewart Walker Sailing Center, houses fleets of 10 J-22's, 18 Z420 and 18 CFJ's in addition to a Melges 30 and a J-36 used by our offshore team.
