About Cuttyhunk Yacht Club:
Founded in 1956, CYC is a non-profit organization with a special place at the heart of the Cuttyhunk Island community. Generations of families have built and contributed to the Yacht Club, which today has a fleet of 10 N10s, 6 lasers, 6 420s, 2 Cape Dory typhoons, and 2 new power boats. In 2018 we had 100 children between the ages of 6-16 participate in our sailing program over 8 weeks. Some years our sailors participate in the Beverly Youth Regatta, and we typically host 2 informal regattas with local YCs. Our focus is on safety, fun, and enjoying the beauty of Buzzards Bay!
Cuttyhunk is the outermost of the Elizabeth Islands off the coast of Massachusetts. With a year round population of about 20 souls the summer population swells to several hundred. With very few cars, restaurants, and inns, it is a well know retreat and destination for sailors, artists/writers, fishermen, and families, many of whom have been coming to the island for generations.
