<div><font face="Arial" size="2">The Sandy Bay Sailing Program is conducted at the Sandy Bay Yacht Club, in Rockport, Massachusetts. Rockport is a beautiful and historic New England town, located 45 minutes north of Boston and less than ten minutes from Gloucester. Rockport is home to multiple beaches and dozens of summertime activities. The Sandy Bay Yacht Club has multiple sailing fleets that race every Saturday and Sunday, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. </font></div><div> </div><div><font face="Arial" size="2">The sailing program is looking for an experienced, full-time Opti race coach for Summer 2015. The ten week sailing program begins mid June and ends August 20th. Lessons are conducted in Optis and 420s for 180 sailors ages 8-18. </font><span style="border-collapse: collapse; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 7px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 7px; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt; ">The mission of the Sandy Bay Sailing Program is to give our students a broad exposure to the sport of sailing. Our primary goal is to develop, safe, independent sailors, by offering them an active and exciting experience that builds camaraderie, sportsmanship, and self-reliance.</span></div><div> </div><div>The Race Coach position will require traveling to regattas throughout New England. Daily lesson plans are a requirement as well. Coaches will help organize and facilitate regattas hosted at Sandy Bay Yacht Club. </div><div> </div><div>The coach will also work with beginner, intermediate and advanced sailors of all ages. Coaches will collaborate to create strong and detailed lessons plans. The position requires a very enthusiastic and motivated individual who is interested in a leadership role while maintaining a strong relationship with all coworkers and sailors. The coaches must be able to work long hours, five days a week throughout the summer. </div><div> </div><div>We are looking to ramp up our Opti race program in order to compete with other regional Opti programs. The candidate should have a strong background in Optimist/dinghy and collegiate sailing, prior sailboat instructing experience, powerboat driving experience, strong communication skills, and current US Sailing certifications. Coaches will be in constant contact with Program Director and parents of race team sailors to ensure clear communication of all logistics. </div><div> </div><div>The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and organized leader. Implementation of club rules and fair sailing is a must. We are looking for a coach who enforces proper preparation for daily practices and regattas, and is consistent and methodical with all of their planning. </div><div> </div><div>Housing will be offered.
