Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
• General knowledge and understanding of boats
• General knowledge and understanding of kayaks, paddleboards, and sailboats.
• Thorough knowledge and application of tying a clove hitch, bowline, and cleat hitch.
• CPR/First Aid Certified
• High level of customer service experience.
• High level of Fiberglass and boat maintenance experience
Knowledge and Skills:
• Thorough knowledge and application of docking procedures.
• Thorough knowledge and application of VHF marine radio etiquette and communication rules.
• An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.
• Leadership and customer service skills.
• Decision-making skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and our internal website.
• Fiberglass and rigging knowledge
Junior, Adult, RC, Coach Boat Maintenance:
• (6) BICs, (16) Optis, (2) Lasers, (27) 420s maintenance such as fiber glassing, replacing lines, recording what work needs to be done and following through.
• (2, possibly 6 others) Sonars, (2 wet and 6 dry) Ideals, (1) Pearson 26 general maintenance such fiber glassing, replacing lines, recording what work needs to be done and following through. Boat bottom painting, winterizing, prepping for the season.
• RC Boats (3). General maintenance. Painting boat bottoms and gearing up for the season as well as winterizing. Basic engine repairs, oil changes, etc.
• Coach boats (5 13ft whalers, 2 17ft whalers, 3 inflatables) including cleaning, general maintenance, bottom painting, winterizing and preparing for season.
• All boats listed above should be kept clean and well maintained.
Head Dockmaster:
• Responsible for ensuring a pleasant and hospitable basin experience for members and visiting guests.
• Acting as a first point of contact for members and guests arriving by boat.
• Facilitating the best waterfront facility around by maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Head Dockmaster to lead two other assistant Dockmasters and schedule throughout the boating season (May to September)
