Job Description
Pay Commensurate With Experience!

The Head Coach will primarily coach the C420s and will help oversee the development of the VYBA Race Team by working with the RWB, Opti, and HS Coaches.
The Head Coach will report to the Program Director and work with her to help build the program, keep sailors motivated and engaged, and develop strong ties with the Venice Community.

The VYBA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and so we depend on our awesome coaching staff to also assist with maintenance, both preventative and curative, for our fleets: C420s, Optis, O'Pen Bics, and World Wide Sailor Prams.

There is travel involved, typically around the state of Florida. Food, housing, and gas reimbursements are available for regattas. Some educational aspects can also be reimbursed (i.e. attendance at the Sailing Leadership Forum).

Venice is a beautiful area! Our location provides easy access to 3 local Bays, and an inlet that feeds right out into the Gulf of Mexico. The kids are ready to push further in the world of sailing and looking for a fantastic, energetic, and motivated Coach to help them do it. Applications accepted until September 1st.
Job Requirements
-US Sailing Level 2 Certified (minimum)
-Heads Up Concussion Training Certified
-Safe Sport Certified
-First Aid/CPR/AED Certified for Pediatrics and Adults
-NASBLA for FL
-Able to pass a Level 2 Background Check
-Valid License

Venice Youth Boating Association (VYBA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Venice, Florida. Sailing practices occur in the local Bays and on the Gulf. The programs offered at VYBA include a School Year Race Program, a Summer Learn to Sail Program for Youths and Adults, and a School Year Adventure Program for area-youth interested in sailing but not quite ready to take the step into the competitive world of sailing. VYBA's current Program Director is Tara Foster.
