Sail in Brooklyn. Looking for passionate sailing coaches.

Join New York’s newest sailing club in Brooklyn. Located in the award winning Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier 5 in ONE15 Brooklyn Marina.

Our club has new fleets of Melges 24s and J/80s and easy access to New York Harbor. Our tag line is Sail Better, Sail Brooklyn - we foster a culture of learning, sharing and excellence. Our programs: US Sailing Basic Keelboat training for adults, club cruising and racing programs and community sailing.

Sailing Coaches: Our sailing instructors are responsible for teaching the US Sailing Basic Keelboat program on the weekends. They will also assist in the training and certification of club skippers and help race committee during racing events. Our coaches will help also develop new sailing programs such as teen sailing and performance sailing.

This is a seasonal full time position (40 hrs) starting April through October. Depending on experience and ability, assignments may lead to full time year round assignments as well. Part-time positions also available for the right candidates.

We are also looking for service staff: Key folks to maintain our fleet of high performance sailboats, support boats and floating sailing center. Ideal folks are self-starters, organized and well versed in preventative maintenance and sailboat repairs. Ability to work in a team with other staff and Club members.
Job Requirements
Sailing Coaches Desired Skills:

US Sailing Basic Keelboat instructional certifications and USCG OUPV qualifications or better. RYA and ASA qualifications will be also considered. We can help with certifications for the right individuals.They must be passionate about teaching and sailing.

Experience running race committee and other race related activities are also a big plus.

US driver's license and computer skills helpful.

Service Staff Desired Skills: Small vessel commissioning and decommissioning, management of daily and long-term maintenance of fleet and support vessels, small engine maintenance and servicing, minor rigging and sail repair, gelcoat repair and minor fiberglass repair, basic boat systems understanding and repair, training and management aptitude.
