Job Description
A unique opportunity exists in Annapolis/Mid-Atlantic to assist a nationally-competitive high school sailing team, and potentially help coach a private Optimist team with regional/national aspirations concurrently during the fall and spring seasons. Potential exists to add coaching in the summer with a summer training school along with travel to regional and national Optimist events.

Severn School has an active, competitive sailing team, with full varsity and JV programs. Our team sails both in local events, and work to compete at the national level. This position has flexible timing, please inquire and learn more about this great opportunity!
The team sails at our own venue, with our own fleet, 12 new 420's Spring 2018 and 6 FJ's, on the Magothy River in Severna Park, about 3 miles from campus. The team sails competitively in the fall and spring seasons. The assistant coach will work with 2 other coaches and help develop new sailors, along with coaching top youth sailors in fleet racing and team racing. Severn has 12 420's, 6 FJ's, and 3 coach boats. This is a part-time position and offers flexibility, usually 4-5 days a week coaching, and also includes some weekend coaching. Some growth potential, and successful applicant will have use of Severn's athletic facilities and gym. We are looking for someone with demonstrated skill in dinghy sailing, and coaching experience.
