Hingham Yacht Club is located on an idyllic corner of Boston Harbor. Our program consists of 3 learn to sail Opti levels, an Opti racing team, an adventure sailing program and a 420 race team. The program operates on half day sessions with lessons both in the morning and afternoon and includes a busy regatta schedule throughout the summer for the racing sailors.

HYC is seeking applicants with US Sailing Certification (or international equivalent) with strong work ethic, enthusiasm, leadership, and robust sailing knowledge.

Job Requirements
RACE COACH POSITION:
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of well-structured daily lesson plans that follow the HYC curriculum outline.
- Provide on the water practices/lessons that are appropriate for both age and skill level of sailors and conditions.
- Provide sailors/families with clear and constructive feedback to help them progress towards their sailing goals.
- Operate in a way that promotes the safety of sailors and fellow staff members
- Conduct oneself as a role model and in a way that promotes the values of HYC
- Provide mentorship/learning opportunities for Instructors, Junior Sailing Instructors and Instructors in Training in a supervised setting.
- Provide coaching at various local and regional regattas at varying levels.
- Assist with adult lessons/weekly races as needed

Reporting:
- Reports directly to HYC Sailing Director and to Head Sailing Instructor

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of instructing experience as a race coach desired
- Minimum level 1 US Sailing certification
- Level 2/3 US Sailing certifications desired
- Strong personal racing background at high school or college level
- Strong understanding of the racing rules of sailing

Compensation:
Negotiable and commensurate with experience


SENIOR INSTRUCTOR POSITION
