Job Description
The Duxbury Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program is looking for instructors for the 2019 summer season. Our junior sailing fleets include Optimists, Hartleys and 420s. We have inflatables and skiffs for safety and instructor boats, and a great waterfront team that keeps everything in top shape. Our instructors work with our program director to bring skills, ideas, and fun to our junior sailors.

Description:

The race coach at Duxbury Yacht Club is responsible for coaching young sailors in Optimists and 420s during practice and at local events throughout the summer. They will be expected to construct lesson plans and to travel to regattas. The Race Coach will also work alongside the current program director to be trained for the coming year as program director if qualified. The race coach will be expected to work 5 days a week, about 30 hours a week and some weekends, starting in June and going to mid August.

Job Requirements:
- The applicant must have graduated High School
- Must have experience in racing in regattas and instructing for at least 2 years
- Should be encouraging and energetic to help further develop our small program
- Must work well with others and have strong leadership qualities
- US Sailing Level 1 certification is required, as well as experience in driving motor boats
- Trailering experience a plus

- Housing can be furnished

The program runs from early-July through mid-August. Instructors are brought in a week prior to the start of the program for orientation.
