Job Description
Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club is looking for an Assistant Program Coordinator to work alongside the Program Coordinator to oversee the safety of the children and staff while on the yacht club grounds. In addition, you will work with the Program Coordinator to oversee the coaching staff, curriculum and lesson plans. Finally, you will manage the use of and care for the club motorboats and trailers. The Assistant Program Coordinator will work with the Program Coordinator to complete the following responsibilities:

• Basic Coach Boat Maintenance (including: gas runs, available to troubleshoot/fix minor issues i.e.: gas line repair, battery checks, water in gas, etc.)
• Motor Boat Safety (train staff in safe operation of coach boats, check boats to ensure all safety equipment is present)
• Ensuring that coach boats are prepared for weather/storms
• Trailer Usage/Maintenance (check lights, help parents hitch to car)
• Attend orientation and occasional staff meetings
• Help coaches with lesson planning and classroom management
• Enforce program policies to maintain a safe and productive environment
• Be the point person when the Program Coordinator is off-site

Historic Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, founded in 1912, is located on Long Beach Island in southern NJ. The yacht club covers 5 acres including a 3-story club house, 6 tennis courts and a junior sailing facility. The sailing program, founded over 85 years ago, produces many talented sailors on national and international levels. Our program has over 120 sailors, ages 7 - 18, and 16 full-time instructors. Sailors compete frequently in local, regional and national events in Optis, 420s and Lasers. LEHYC is a terrific place to spend your summer with sailing, surfing, and fantastic beaches. LEHYC has hosted numerous major events including 2006, 2012, & 2018 ACCs, Lightning Worlds, Opti North Americans, E-Scow Nationals, Laser Nationals and others.
Job Requirements
The Assistant Program Coordinator is required to hold the following certifications:
(1) NJ Boaters Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
(2) Current 1st Aid Training, Current CPR/AED Training
(3) US Sailing Level 1 Certification
