Job Description
Rocky Point is accepting applications for junior and senior sailing coaches for the six/seven week programme starting end June.
Rocky point is a family club situated on a rocky point overlooking long island sound. Our programme caters to children from the ages of 6 to 16 with appropriate programmes; taste of sailing and opti intro, through Opti Basics and Intermediate to Feva/Pixel/Ideal sailing and racing.
The sailing coach will work with one class throughout the programme, 5 days a week from approximately 9-5. Opportunities to coach adults in the evenings and work regattas at the weekend are also available.
All of our programmes work towards the 'little red book' of US Sailing and have curriculum based on the standards.
We have an active regatta focus and instructors will be expected to coach and take sailors to regattas and chaperone them.
Job Requirements
Current US Sailing level one, first aid, CPR AND safe powerboat handling qualifications are required. Rocky point will provide a safe powerboat handling refresher course before the season starts - candidates with powerboat experience but without the safe PB handling certification can be assessed and certified upon request.
A good sense of fun and a love for sailing are the most important qualities as training will be provided.
