Do you love sailing and want to share your passion with youth ages 7-17? Spend your summer on beautiful Squam Lake doing what you love! As Lead Sailing Instructor you have the unique opportunity to work with two summer camps, the Squam Lakes Association's (SLA) sailing day camp and Camp Hale's residential camp. The Lead Sailing Instructor is provided room & board at Camp Hale and teaches their campers on occasional evenings & weekends and spends the week days teaching at the SLA. Gain valuable leadership skills and work closely with the Assistant Sailing Instructor to create unique and fun-filled camp weeks. Improve your own sailing skills during weekly regattas with fellow sailing instructors on Lake Winnipesaukee. There is even one week of camp that involves sailing to an island and camping out. This summer job is perfect for the adventurous sailor who wants to share their love of sailing with others! *Hold a current US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor certification at a minimum.
*Current Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED & Lifeguard certification required.
*Must have a passion for watersports, the environment, and working with kids.
*Must have empathy for the students and be able to adapt to their individual needs.
*Must have a positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.
*Must possess strong problem solving skills and an ability to adapt to changing program needs depending on weather, number of students, number of boats, etc.
*Lead Instructor must be over 18 years old.
*Must be available for the entire duration of program: 6/10/2019-8/12/2019.
