Oakcliff Sailing is seeking a full-time, paid intern to train under the current Media & PR Manager, Francis George.
The ideal candidate does not need a lot of experience but should have a hard work ethic, an inherent drive to learn, and an enthusiastic attitude about sailing, storytelling, and creating compelling content. There will be a mix of office tasks and field work like covering inshore regattas (mostly match racing) and going offshore as an OnBoard Reporter (OBR).
Good interpersonal and organizational skills are a must and a strong sense of creativity is key. Excellent writing skills are necessary. At least some knowledge of racing is a must. Experience in video editing, working in Adobe Creative Cloud, and piloting a drone are ideal but, if not, training will be provided.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Writing press releases, newsletters, and editorial pieces
Social Media Management
Website maintenance (no coding necessary)
Coordinating with media outlets to distribute news
Cataloging digital footage

We offer trainees a proving ground to develop their skills in the three big veins of professional sailing: the America’s Cup, the Olympics, and around-the-world races.
