BEST SUMMER JOB EVER! SUMMER SAIL CAMP INSTRUCTORS
The North East River Y/C on the Chesapeake Bay, MD, is seeking sailing instructors/coaches for the 2019 summer season.
Our well established and respected summer camp program provides opportunity to teach beginners through advanced as well as opportunities competitive sailors aged 7 -16 years of age. Sessions begin mid June and run through mid August. Hours weekly 8:30am to 4:30pm Mon -Thurs. Any agreed additional time will be compensated.
We have a strong Optimist program for our younger sailors, and utilize FJ's,
Lasers and Club 420's for older sailors. Successful applicants will be experienced sailors, who are motivated, hard-working, reliable, enthusiastic, diligent, energetic, competent, creative and able to work well with others. They should be great mentors, excellent communicators and have the skills to create and execute effective and fun lesson plans, maintain safe practices and above all, have a genuine love of life and passion for sailing and teaching kids. College age preferred (18+)

About the club and program:
- NERYC is a private club located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay in the town of North East, Maryland, about 40 mins North of Baltimore. The NERYC summer program follows universally accepted methods of teaching sailing and operates within the guidelines prescribed by US Sailing. Learning, safety and fun are the cornerstones of our curriculum and our young sailors are taught using a combination of lectures, visual aids, practical drills and extensive on the water practice at our facility, which is ideally located on the sheltered waters of the Northeast River.
MINIMUM US SAILING SMALL BOAT LEVEL 1 BEFORE START (or equivalent international certification)
NASBLA SAFE BOATING CERTIFICATION OR APPROVED EQUIVALENT (course available free online)
CURRENT FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION
PREVIOUS SAILING EXPERIENCE
PREVIOUS TEACHING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
