We specialize in training our students at the highest level; whether they dream of bareboat chartering a yacht in exotic locations around the world, or wish to simply explore their local cruising grounds.
Established in 2008.
Black Rock Sailing School was founded to fill a void in local sailing education and offer the most advanced sailing training aboard modern vessels with only professional adult instructors. Black Rock specializes in daysailing, coastal cruising, navigation, and bareboat charter certification. Since opening it's doors in 2008, Black Rock has been the only school in New England to be awarded ASA Outstanding School of the Year 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012 (every year that the award was given). The owners, Brenton Lochridge and Paul Sullivan, as well as one of our part time summer instructors, have also been awarded ASA Outstanding Instructor of the Year 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
