Job Description
The sailing instructor’s main responsibility is to instruct students in different courses offered by the Hoboken Sailing School. The main course will be Basic Keelboat, which is a U.S. Sailing sponsored course. Safety is paramount for both instructors and students. Instructors must have a safety-oriented mindset both on and off the water. The Sailing Instructor’s primary responsibilities are listed below however, the position’s responsibilities may not be limited to these items.

Job Description:

• Instruct students in U.S. Sailing’s Basic Keelboat curriculum
• Administer the U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat Exam to students
• Instruct students in sailing clinics
• Perform maintenance on the J24 fleet
• Perform sales and marketing of different Hoboken Sailing Club products
Job Requirements
Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of related sailing experience
• First Aid and CPR Certified
• Safety oriented mindset and actions both on and off the water
• Candidate must be detail oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be a team player

Preferred

• At least 1 year of sailing instruction
• U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Certification
o If not certified, willing to become certified is required
• U.S. Coast Guard Captains License
