Job Description
CSC is seeking a Shore Director to lead, develop and manage its sailing programs at Cherry Creek Reservoir, along with assisting event management and organizational growth. The position is a seasonal (June-August), full-time position that will report to the Executive Director. This person is responsible for the following.

Overseeing all sailing programs at their specific locations including the hiring, training, supervision and managing of sailing Instructors, coaches, junior instructors, and volunteers
- Communicating with parents regarding absentees, incidents and behavioral issues
- When necessary, assisting instructors with behavior management of students
- Establishing a positive and safe learning environment for all participants
- Developing and/or revising curriculum as appropriate for all levels of sailors and ensuring progress toward learning goals
- When needed, instruct or assist with instruction of sailing programs and classes
- Overseeing the preparation and day-to-day maintenance of sailing equipment and power boats, as well as communicating any issues with Director
- Assist with marketing on all fronts (social media, blog posts, photography, videography) as well as planning and execution of a variety of community/fundraising events throughout the season.
Job Requirements
Candidate should be self-motivated and enjoy working within the sport of sailing as well as promote a team environment that inspires instructors and students. They must have:

- Experience organizing, managing and coordinating the daily activities of a Sailing Program
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety are a must
- Previous instructing/coaching experience (experience with Lasers & Club 420 is a plus)
- Experience managing a staff ranging in age from high school ages and older
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and take initiative
- Comfortable working under pressure, exercising strong problem-solving skills and willing to adapt to changing program needs
- Familiarity with basic computer systems, social network sites and online marketing
- Ability to create and implement policies and procedures
- Have a college education at Associate level or higher (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- Current US Sailing Small Boat Instructor Level 1 (Level 2 is a plus)
- Able to pass necessary background checks
