Job Description
Waterfront Activities Director - Seasonal hands-on instructor and administrative person for all Belle Haven Club recreation sailing/boating programs. Also ultimately responsible for the maintenance of club-owned sailboats, and boating program support powerboats (either doing the work, or farming it out to the proper source). Works with the Jr. Sailing Head Instructor when necessary (coordinates use of Ideals, Hobie Waves, etc…). Teaches private sailing lessons, Oversees Camp Sailing Program, Run Ladies Sailing (Wednesdays), Organize the annual regatta (Ideal 18s), Commission, launch, maintain (daily), haul, and decommission (Ideal 18s), Create enthusiasm for boating activities (all). Program runs from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day, but if a college candidate needs to return to school earlier than Labor Day, we are open to ending the job earlier for the right candidate.
Job Requirements
Preferred background: Sailing/boating program management; Strong understanding of sail and powerboating; Administrative skills, interpersonal skills (working within club management, and board/committee-head hierarchy); Member relations (must be an outgoing, charismatic personality).
