Job Description
Cedar Point Yacht Club (CPYC) is seeking experience Sailing Instructors for the 2020 summer program. This Instructor will work within a team of 8 other sailing instructors under the guidance of the Head Instructor and Program Director.

Founded in 1887, CPYC is located on the Long Island Sound in Westport, Connecticut. The mission of CPYC’s Junior Sailing Program is to introduce Jr. Sailors to the joy of sailing and the thrill of sailboat racing. All classes focus on basic boat handling, seamanship, and sportsmanship; while building racing performance and tactical skills. We strive to develop teamwork, individual initiative, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

CPYC runs an eight-week summer program from late June to mid-August with approximately 90 Jr. Sailors, ages 6-18. Our Jr. Sailing Fleets include Opti, Feva, C420, Laser Radial, and Laser Standard. We also offer a very competitive Jr. Big Boat Program for our older Jr. Sailors.
Job Requirements
We seek US Sailing Level 1 Certified instructors, current First Aid and CPR certificates will be needed prior to program start, Safe Powerboat Handling Certificate and CT Safe Boating Certificates are required. Ideally, we are seeking college aged instructors (18+) who have both prior racing and instructing experience.
