Job Description
Carolina Yacht Club of Charleston, SC is hiring an experienced Head Instructor for the 2022 Summer Sailing season. An active on the water management role, this position is a unique opportunity for the qualified candidate to spend the summer on the harbor with the strongest program in town.
This position manages our thriving Summer Sailing program from June to early August and leads a staff of 5-7 instructors. Our program caters to both new and developing sailors with a variety of classes offered throughout the summer. Classes are taught in Optis, Open Skiffs, and J/22s.
This is a full-time, June-August position with flexible start/end dates. Pay is highly competitive and a housing stipend is provided. Applicants should have extensive sailing and coaching experience, be passionate about the sport of sailing, and have a strong work ethic. The Head Instructor reports to the Sailing Director and will be responsible for managing & scheduling staff, developing lessons plans for programming, and overseeing the Summer Sailing Program. Safety is paramount and the Head Instructor will be relied on to ensure all programming follows proper safety methods.
