Job Description

Are you ready for the best summer of your life? The Westhampton Yacht Squadron, in the Hamptons on Long Island’s south shore, is looking for Coaches and Sailing Instructors for the summer of 2020.

The position requires very enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are interested in teaching and or coaching sailing this summer. Candidates should be able to maintain a strong working relationship with all coworkers to implement exciting, safe and educational sailing lessons. We want individuals who have a competent knowledge of rigging one design boats, teaching beginner to advanced students and coaches who have advanced racing, rigging and tactical knowledge.

The position is for 9 –10 weeks based upon your availability. The lesson program is 8 weeks long, 5 days a week for 7 – 8 hours a day. Coaches will have a longer day on the day of regattas. If you are available, you can start in early June with preseason setup. There is also the opportunity to extend your season with pre and post season coaching, clinics and private lessons.

Our Opti and 420 teams are very active and we travel weekly to the local junior regattas and regionally to the larger events. There is a possibility to expand your coaching season year-round if you are interested and available.  If you have the ability to tow a coach boat that will be reflected in your pay.

Our club is an amazing place to sail and work on the beautiful south shore of Eastern Long Island within minutes the Westhampton Beach Community and Dune road. There are many social events at the club and locally that you are able to attend. It’s a great place to spend a summer.

Housing can be worked out and we offer a competitive salary for this position.

All resumes, supporting documents, and questions can be emailed to John Zambriski at wyscoachjohn@yahoo.com.
