Adult Sailing Instructor

The Riverton Yacht Club Adult Learn to Sail Program runs from June 16, 2025 through August 20, 2025.  The Beginner Program will run for three sessions on Monday evenings.  The Advanced Program will run on Tuesdays and Wednesday for two sessions.  This popular program is based at Riverton Yacht Club on the Delaware River across from Northeast Philadelphia.  The Beginner Program will introduce students to sailing fundamentals such as Rigging, Points of Sail, sailboat maneuvering and sailing safety.  The Advanced Program will build on these skills and apply them to sailboat racing.  Instructors will utilize club owned J-22’s for the training boats.  There may also be opportunities for instructors to staff the Junior Program.  The Junior Program runs 5 days a week for half and full day sessions from June 23 through August 15.

Riverton Yacht Club Learn to Sail Program requires:

Sailing experience and competence,

US Sailing Level 1 certification preferred,

Current First Aid/CPR,

NJ Boating certification or equivalent,

A passion for sailing and a desire to teach/promote sailing as a lifelong sport,

Self-motivation, initiative and positive attitude,
