Job Description

Sharon High School is seeking an assistant/JV sailing coach. Sharon has a very active, enthusiastic, co-ed, and ethnically diverse sailing program with up to 32 student-athletes and two coaches. All students sail 4 days per week, in both fall and spring, and varsity sailors sail weekend events. We have an excellent, convenient venue with 18 well maintained 420s. Although almost all of our sailors begin with only a few weeks of “camp sailing” experience prior to high school, the team has a culture of high expectations and achievements. The team has a record of many league championships in both fleet and team racing, and is typically ranked between 10th and 20th in New England. We have twice qualified for national events.

The head coach and JV coach work together to develop a program for building a fun, enthusiastic, competitive team, but the JV coach has primary responsibility for the non-varsity day to day activities of the team. Typically this includes one third to one half of the team – mostly freshmen and sophomores.
