Norfolk Collegiate School is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Sailing Coach to join our nationally recognized sailing program. The program has won several state championships and consistently qualifies for regional and national competitions in the fall and the spring.
This is a full-time Upper School English teaching position. This position will be responsible for teaching upper school core and elective English classes, advising a small group of upper school students and supporting the school’s mission. A successful candidate for this position will have a degree in English or a related discipline; a strong background in world, British, and American literature; excellent organizational and communication skills; and experience teaching writing to adolescents. Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses is a plus. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in an upper school setting and a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches to learning. We seek teachers who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about teaching young adults. Candidates should be interested in working with students from a variety of backgrounds who possess a range of abilities and learning styles. This position requires collaborative work with others; therefore, this individual must be able to work effectively with colleagues and parents.
