With a program of over 150 students and 52 boats, BYC operates one of the largest junior sailing programs on Narragansett Bay. For sailing instructor positions, we are seeking experienced and enthusiastic high school and college-aged sailors. Our staff provides hands-on, minds-on instruction for students at ages 5-18 in Optimists, c420s, RS Visions, and RS Quests. Sailing Instructors are charged with significant responsibility including:
• Teaching junior sailors the fundamentals of sailing, racing, and seamanship
• Establishing respectful and constructive relationships with students and their families
• Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the BYC’s sail and power fleet

The term of employment will span approximately nine weeks from mid June to late August—which includes a set-up week, eight weeks of instruction, and several days to assist with fleet breakdown. This summer with instruction will run from June 26th to August 18th with a few days expected in the weeks immediately before and after the program. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 9 am - 4 pm.
