experiences, including watersports, beach, pool, concierge, transportation, and destination management services. Our organization specializes in providing critical guest-facing departments with subject matter experts, passionate associates, and dedicated management.

 

General Job Description:

The Watersports Center is the hub of all beach activities at the Ritz-Carlton Grace Bay. RED’s team is responsible for delivering fun and safe beach and non-motorized watersports experiences to the guests, as well as booking guests on watersports excursions. The Beach Captain will be the main conduit for guest facing services delivered by RED. The scope of responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to, managing retail and beach staff, communication with Ritz-Carlton Concierge, communication with Ritz Carlton Catering, completing retail inventory, completing payroll and scheduling, and facilitating staff training.

Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Managing Watersports Staff
• Organize and supervise daily operations, including delegation and management of Watersports staff
• Supervise safety aspects of all Watersports operations, including implementation of standard practices and procedures
• Ensure all RED employee policies are being followed
• Supervise maintenance and upkeep of watersports equipment, including recommendations and costing for equipment replacements when necessary
• Challenge and motivate staff to achieve sales, provide superior guest service and promote REDs culture in a spirit to serve environment
• Foster a team environment


Communication with Concierge Staff
• Receive and bill private vendor bookings made through Concierge
• Assist with guest resolution related to RED trips, billing and retail room charges
• Forward critical communications received in Watersports regarding guests or property information to leadership teams
• Ensure a daily shift report is provided to management

Communication with Ritz-Carlton Catering
• Monitor and submit daily trip counts to Executive Chef
• Track and record trip counts to be submitted for billing

Retail Inventory
• Supervise and train staff on inventory policies for tracking, reporting and billing
• Assist with inventory counts (quarterly)
• Communicate inventory needs to Property Director for purchasing

Payroll and Scheduling
• Manage and report days worked, daily commission sheets and approve time cards
• Approve staff schedules

Staff Training
• Responsible for all aspects of training Watersports Staff members including:
o Systems, policies and procedures (RED and Ritz-Carlton), sailing lessons, dinghy operations, safety/rescues
• Encourage upward mobility within RED for staff members seeking additional opportunities

Job Requirements
• Working eight hours outside in the water and/or under the sun
• Ability to work flexible hours due to guest demands, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Have a proficient understanding of Microsoft Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook)
• Embody a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to be a self-starter with strong organizational skills
• Must be able to write English in a professional manner, as well as communicate verbally at the same level
• Customer service or service industry experience a plus
• Previous paddlesports experience is a plus
• Prior leadership experience required
