We are currently looking for a Boat Yard Assistant who will work at our Sailing Center under the direction of the Waterfront Director to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operation. The Boat Yard Assistant will be primarily responsible for the upkeep of the fleets (90+ boats - Sail & Power) and facility. Although no two days are ever the same, the position will typically handle cleaning and rearranging boats, repairing damages (fiberglass experience a plus), and general maintenance.
This is a part time position that has the opportunity to transition to full-time for the right candidate. Working weekends is required.
Boat handling skills and knowledge of nautical terminology;
Line handling skills, including the ability to tie bowline, half hitch knots, toss, and cleat lines;
Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work safely around water, on a ladder, or in confined spaces;
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds;
Excellent communication and customer service skills;
Knowledge of fiberglass repair a plus;
Sailing experience a plus
