Cedar Point Yacht Club is located on the Long Island Sound in Westport, Connecticut. Founded in 1887, Cedar Point Yacht Club runs an eight-week summer Jr Sailing Program from late-June to mid-August. Our Jr Sailing Program enrolls approximately 90 Jr Sailors each summer, ages 6-18. Our Jr Sailing Fleets include Opti, Feva, C420, Laser Radial, and Laser Standard. We also offer a very competitive Jr Big Boat Program for our older Jr Sailors.
The mission of Cedar Point Yacht Club’s Junior Sailing Program is to introduce Jr Sailors to the joy of sailing and the thrill of sailboat racing. All classes focus on basic boat handling, seamanship, and sportsmanship; while building racing performance and tactical skills. We strive to develop teamwork, individual initiative, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
