JOB DESCRIPTION - Club Manager EYC
Position Summary
The Club Manager is an employee of the Eugene Yacht Club, and reports to the Club Board of
Trustees through the Commodore, who is, according to the Club Bylaws, responsible for the
day-to-day supervision (including employment, direction, evaluation, and discharge) or Club
employees. The Club Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of Club affairs.
Operational aspects include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Board of Trustees and Club committees in all matters related to the Club
- serving as the Club’s day-to-day operational contact person
- coordinate the Club’s relationships with persons, organizations and governmental
agencies with which the Club has dealings
- assure Club compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations affecting Club operations,
including permits, registrations, licenses, and inspections
- the supervision of the club host, including the care, maintenance and, repair and
security of Club grounds and personal property
- development and direction of a Club Youth sailing Program
- in conjunction with the Treasurer, supervise the Bookkeeper in maintaining the Cub
books, receivables, payables, and accounts
Job Requirements
Candidate requirements: - Associate or Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, recreation management or relevant field desired, significant experience could be substituted - US Sailing Level 1 instructor with experience in a junior sailing program - Be proficient in office software: MS Office, Google Workspace or equivalent - Complete the Oregon Boating Safety Course and obtain a valid Oregon Boaters License - Must be willing to be CPR trained and certified - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to inspire others - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Preferred, not required: - Experience in managing non-profit organization - 5 year experience in managing youth activity programs - US Sailing Level 2 instructor - The Club ManagerManger may not be a Club office holder, or a member or the Board to Trustees. The Club Manager may be a Club member, but Club membership is not a requirement.
