Columbia Sailing Club has an opening for a full-time Sailing Director, beginning in May, though our start date can be somewhat flexible. A May start will allow the new director to overlap with our existing director through summer camp, ensuring a smooth transition.
Columbia Sailing Club, founded in 1957, is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Murray near Columbia, South Carolina. We are members of US Sailing and SAYRA and host multiple one-design fleets. We have more than 260 members and a vibrant junior program. Our junior program consists of an award-winning summer camp and a traveling junior race team. The summer camps and learn to sail offerings are very mature. Our junior race team is growing. We offer private sailing lessons, Women on the Water, and we sponsor high school sailing teams, and the Gamecock Sailing Club and Team at the University of South Carolina.
The Sailing Director’s responsibilities include the management of all junior programs, the hiring and oversight of all part-time coaches, and the management of club-owned sailboats. The ideal candidate will have a mix of coaching and administrative skills.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated, driven candidate. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor a work visa for a foreign national. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
