Managing Director for Adult Sailing instruction and Managing Membership activities.
The main function is to provide 4-16 adults with beginner sailing instruction on Saturdays during highwater. Depending on the size of the class, there may be a young sailing instructor to assist you. This will start in mid to late May and going into late July. During boating season, to insure we have a safety boat driver for membership sailing, which is for four hours during high water on Saturday and Sunday. Safety boat driver may be yourself or a qualified member.
Work hours: Half day on Saturdays, half days on Sunday starting Mid May and going to Mid October. Many weekends may not have activities due to weather or lack of activities. The position is salary. Weekday work is mainly administrative and starts in mid January and goes to end of November, its about two to five hours during the week working from home. There is very little work during the winter, but much more during the summer. Estimate about 260 to 300 hours for the total year, May to August having about 40 hours per month.
In charge of managing an assistant instructor to help with teaching adult programs such as sailing and kayaking lessons. Insures instructors have required qualifications. There may be some need to coordinate organizational activities with schools and educational organizations.
Reports any needed maintenance or repairs to the dockmaster. Coordinates with the dockmaster the use of instructors for making repairs or preforming maintenance.
Coordinate's with publicity coordinator any announcements of any events, and information about instructional opportunities including posting job opportunities.
Creates an annual budget, forecasts of costs, and budget updates as scheduled for the Adult Sailing and Membership activities and provides it to the Executive Director.
Creates job descriptions for instructors
In charge of the event coordinator, who will help the director coordinate membership events, fund raising events, river clean up events, and social events.
Will coordinate and manage membership applications and communications, updating the membership list, and keeping the qualification for each member updated on the on line membership card or virtual membership card. This person Works closely with Web Site Manager in the membership only section of the web site.
reports directly to the executive director with close coordination with the Board President.

Level 1 US Sailing Instructor Certificate or better. NJ Safe Boater Certificate, Small boat Handling experience. First Aid, CPR. Experienced as a Sailing Instructor.
