Double handed Coach

Team BYC is seeking an experienced and motivated Double-Handed Sailing Coach to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This is a part-time role focused on developing sailors in double-handed classes, with an emphasis on fundamentals, race performance, and teamwork.

This position is ideal for current or former college sailors, recent graduates, or experienced racers looking to stay involved in a competitive junior sailing environment.

Schedule

• 3-4 weekend clinics 

Key Responsibilities

• Identify season goals and plan sessions
• Lead and deliver double-handed practices 
• Coach sailors at local regattas
• Create a positive, safe, and structured training environment
• Work collaboratively with Team BYC coaching staff
• Support sailor development across skill levels
• Report to the Junior Sailing Director

Qualifications

• Strong double-handed racing background (CFJ, Club 420, or similar)
• College sailing experience preferred
• Prior coaching experience is a plus
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• US Sailing Level 1, CPR/First Aid, and Boater’s Card
