The Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis, MD is hiring a Melges 15 Lead instructor to help introduce this new and exciting boat class to the club in 2025!
While EYC is predominantly a Learn-to-Sail focused program, the M15 program will be geared on bringing already somewhat experienced youth (and some adult) racers up to competiveness in local regattas. While some weeks will be of course be dedicated to pure Learn to Sail, the majority of the 'camps' being instructed will possess sailors able to confidently navigate simple courses. Spinnaker (especially A-Sym) experience of the sailors will be limited and need instruction / reinforcement prior to regattas.
Lead Instructors oversee their specific boat classes instruction, including curriculum and junior staff management with assistance from the Head Instructor and Program Director. Candidates should possess several years' instructing summer sailing experience and the ability to work productively unsupervised.
Our program as scheduled runs:
Instructor training week starts June 2nd.
Summer Program runs June 9th - Aug 8th, 9:00 am - 4:00pm M-F
