Eastport Yacht Club has Program Assistant and Class head instructor positions available for 2020 Spring & Summer Programs. EYC is a Learn-to-Sail program which promotes lifelong friendships & boaters who
appreciate the sport and the environment! Our program builds confidence, solid foundation skills, environmental awareness and includes STEM/environmental education, with progressive, engaging, fun curriculum. We teach progressive skill levels from beginner to advanced in each fleet (ages 6-15), Jr. Big Boat, Bay Cruiser'/Adventure sailing, paddling, and power-boating sessions. EYC’s fleet includes Blue Dragon prams, Sunfish, RS Fevas (with asymmetrical spinnaker), Mistral Wind Gliders, J22 keelboats (+J70s, J80s, J30s) kayaks, paddleboards; Boston Whalers and RHB Zodiac powerboats. EYC runs a 9 week summer program, fall/spring after school, powerboat, adult, J22 team/match race team, and member access program.

Summer Program starts June 8 (Instructor Week) and *June 1/Program Asst.(or prior preferred), Summer Program runs June 15 - Aug 7
Additional Community Outreach week Aug 10-14 if available.
No travel is required.
Plenty of opportunity to sail in Annapolis' local summer evening and weekend race series!
Spring & Fall coaching opportunities also available.

Program Assistant: minimum age of 21
Assist Waterfront Manager for program administration (i.e. online registrations, registration records, parent checklists and communications) to deliver safe, fun and successful programs
Assist with curriculum development to incorporate environmental education, games, prizes, and fun!
Assist with class and staff scheduling and supervision.
Give guidance and be role model to help staff develop effective instructional techniques
Potentially be part of on and off-water instructor staff for children and adult classes.
Help record and manage ongoing fleet maintenance log.
Knowledge and use of word-processing, data base, excel spreadsheets, and online registration software programs.
Instructors must be a minimum of 18 yrs. old, have prior teaching experience working with kids, strong dinghy sailing, paddling and powerboat experience. J22 experience, adult sailing and environmental education a plus.
All Candidates must have current US Sailing Level 1, CPR, First Aid, Safe Sport, Heads Up cert, and pass background check (EYC will arrange and pay for background check) by start of classes. No weekend travel. Pay rate commensurate with experience. Housing available.
