About Us
Not your traditional blue blazer club, EYC is built on activity, on the water and ashore. Our members are involved in a diverse range of boating activities, supported by social events and strong camaraderie. Known for our million-dollar view of the Severn River and Annapolis, EYC also is recognized in the Chesapeake Bay region and beyond as a club capable of managing major championship regattas, Friday night Beer Can races, and everything in between, as well as providing great social networking for cruising, parties, and charity events. It’s all about life on the water, and all about fun.
Learn to Sail and Powerboat the Fun Way! - The Mission of the Eastport Yacht Club Jr. Fleet is to support a Learn-to-Sail and Learn-to-Boat program that teaches student the basics of boat handling, seamanship, safety, and sportsmanship. The program strives to develop competence and confidence in our sailors in a safe and fun learning environment.

The EYC program emphasizes safety, learning, and foremost FUN, by teaching sailing, seamanship, navigational skills, plus an introduction to racing. Our program helps participants develop self-reliance, self-regulation, sportsmanship, knowledge and respect for the environment while ensuring boating safety awareness. With a combination of classroom and on the- water time, classes are designed to teach the basic skills of sailing and boating to beginners and to help hone the skills of more advanced students. The EYC Learn-to-Sail and Boat Program uses the following types of boats: Optimist, Sunfish, Club FJ, J-22, kayak, paddleboard, and Boston whaler.
