The Executive Director is a proven leader who oversees program
advancement, financial stewardship, member engagement, regatta
management, volunteer and staff development, and collaboration with
community stakeholders. In partnership with the Board of Directors, the
Executive Director will identify, create, and implement strategic plans
and monitor nonprofit operations by following organizational by-laws and
sailing regulations. The Executive Director will uphold the Sailing
Center’s mission and increase sailing participation and excellence
through education, competition, inclusion, and equal opportunity, while
upholding the principles of fair play, sportsmanship, and safety.
Essential
Functions: Represents and promotes the USSCMC in the local community
and develops positive working relationships with other community-based
organizations, businesses, and governmental entities while advancing the
Sailing Center’s impact and position in the community. Be a voice for
the Sailing Center and its partnership efforts, including attending and
speaking at company events.
Strengthen the Sailing
Center’s portfolio and regattas through program evolution, marketing,
promotions, partnerships, and oversee Opti, Middle School, and High
school Sailing programs. Direct a large-scale Sailing Camp
Manages
a substantial donor portfolio and advances financial development
activities in support of the USSCMC fundraising goals. Leads Sailing
Center development activities to increase member/donor ratios, increase
donor engagement and contributions to sustain the mission
Develops,
manages, and monitors the operating budget to meet or exceed financial
targets. Lead/manages a staff of 25 employees and 200 active volunteers.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of programs and trends.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in
programs and employs corrective strategies as needed.
Ensures
the implementation of the Sailing Center’s risk management program to
ensure safe facilities and boating practices for members, volunteers,
and staff. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality
facilities, grounds, and equipment.
