Job Description

Eastport Yacht Club has lead instructor positions available for 2021 Summer Programs. EYC is a Learn-to-Sail program which promotes lifelong friendships & boaters who appreciate the environment! With a progressive, engaging, and fun curriculum, our program focuses on confidence building, foundational skills, environmental awareness, and STEM/environmental education. We teach skill levels from beginner to advanced in each of our fleets, and our junior sailors range from 5 to 15 years of age.

EYC’s fleet includes Blue Dragon prams, Sunfish, RS Zests (a new fleet), RS Fevas (which are rigged with asymmetrical spinnaker), Mistral Windgliders, J/22 keelboats (plus J70s, J80s, and J30s), kayaks, paddleboards, Boston Whalers and RHB Zodiac powerboats.

EYC holds week-long programs for each of our fleets. A typical week includes these classes:

- Blue Dragon Prams

- Sunfish/RS Zests

- RS Fevas

- Adventure Sailing

- Jr. Big Boat

- Friday evening family races

From week to week these classes will be aimed at particular skill levels.

EYC runs a 9 week summer program, Spring/Fall after school programs, powerboat classes, adult lessons, J22 team/match race team, and member access program.

The Summer Program starts on June 7 (Instructor Training Week), and the Summer Program runs from June 14 to Aug 6. We run an additional Community Outreach Week from Aug 9-13.

No travel is required.
Plenty of opportunity to sail in Annapolis' local summer evening and weekend race series!
Spring & Fall coaching opportunities are also available.

LIVE, BREATHE, SAIL! If interested in joining our great EYC team and sharing your passion, please send a resume and 3 references to Nan Walker, Waterfront Manager at waterfront@eastportyc.org.
