Want more Sailing and water time this Fall??
We like the way you think. We are looking for dynamic, talented, hardworking and generally awesome coaches for our Fall 2024 Sailing Programs with future opportunities available. We have some sort of sailing going on all year so we always have a spot for the right person.
Help us continue to build one of the strongest Fall Sailing Programs on the East Coast. American YC has coaching opportunities for both the weekend and weekdays and is looking for talented sailors to help enhance our coaching team. We are looking for people who can inspire our sailors while continuing to develop their own skills through exploration and hard work. Getting paid to go sailing can be a great way to spend your time.
We have coaching opportunities for Optimists, Fevas, Ideal 18s, ILCAs, 420s and more. American YC is looking for 1-3 very skilled dinghy sailors who can help our program develop and encourage young sailors to pursue their love for sailing. We would love one or three ex college high level sailors that can help our kids get to the next level.
Weekday opportunities: we sail 5 days a week, but can be flexible if you only have 2 or 3 days available
Mornings flexible/optional
Afternoons 3 to 7:30 PM with various classes
Weekend opportunities: We would love some high performing, graduated, high school and college sailors that want to get out on the water and show off their skills!
Full coaching days 10-6 (unless we are hosting a special event)
Fall Sailing - Mid August to November
Winter Sailing - varies, but mostly Sundays from November to April
Pay Range: New/developing coaches $17-$20 per hour plus mentorship and coaching alongside experienced coaches so you grow your own skills and knowledge.
Experienced Coaches - $25-$40 per hour, depending on skills, experience, knowledge, certifications and work history. Additional compensation opportunities are available, such as private lessons, boat work, adult lessons, race committee and private coaching.
We ask that our coaches have US Sailing Level 1 or 2 certifications (with all their prerequisites such as safesport and CPR/First Aid), as well as a US Safe Powerboat Handling course. These certifications are needed ASAP and we can offer you guidance on how to complete them in a timely manner.
American YC is focused on building a community of sailors motivated to have a meaningful season of teaching, sailing, learning new skills and inspiring others. If you want to have an extended sailing season having fun while developing your own sailing skills and the sailing skills of others then AYC is the place for you. We hope you will leave this summer a stronger sailor and coach. We look forward to speaking with you!
