Responsibilities:
• Lead the intercollegiate sailing team in coaching at practices and regattas and very importantly, recruiting high school sailors.
• Support a positive student-athlete experience, which is reflected by both high retention and graduation rates among recruited student-athletes.
• Develop and track the sailing team budget.
• Support the hosting of college/high school regattas via supervision, organization, and planning.
• Travel with the sailing team to weekend regattas.
• Assist in operating and maintenance of the waterfront facilities including boats, equipment, docks, shops and administrative spaces as an exemplary marina/boat yard facility.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Demonstrated sailing coaching experience.
• Knowledge of ICSA rules & regulations
• Excellent interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills are essential

The State University of New York Maritime College is an undergraduate and graduate institution focused on engineering, business, science, and maritime transportation. SUNY Maritime College was founded in 1874 and holds the distinction of being the first and largest maritime school in the United States. The College proudly supports sixteen varsity sports teams and three club teams represented by five different athletic conferences. The College is located at historic Fort Schuyler in Throggs Neck, New York, just 14 miles from midtown Manhattan.
