BCSC is hiring a Head Coach for our competitive 420 racing program. This position is full time summer employment from Jun 14 to July 30. Our sailors are onsite from 9-4 Monday thru Friday. The Head Coach will be responsible to our Volunteer Board of Directors, and the Program Director specifically. There are no job responsibilities on Saturday or Sunday.
The Head Coach will be responsible for developing the racing talent of our 420 race program as well as managing the coaching activities of the Assistant Coach who works with the Optimist Program. There is a dedicated staff of Volunteers that handle maintenance of facilities and boats.
Founded in 1992, The Baltimore County Sailing Center is a nonprofit sailing center located at Rocky Point Park on the shore of Hawks Cove in Essex Maryland just northeast of Baltimore. BCSC is a community sailing center that is driven largely by the volunteers and donors that are dedicated to our mission of bringing people of all ages to the water and inspiring a life-long passion for boating.
Our summer double handed racing program is run in a fleet of 18 420's. In addition to daily practice, the team travels to other Chesapeake Bay clubs for regattas during the summer. These events are all one day events held during the week. The Head Coach and Assistant Coach will be responsible for on the water coaching during these events, which are also attended by several parent chaperones.
In addition to competitive pay, BCSC maintains a house on the property at Rocky Point Park and housing for the summer can be negotiated as part of the compensation package.
