Head Coach

Severn Sailing Association is seeking a head coach!

Duties include:

• Coaching the varsity and junior varsity high school sailing teams.
• Assisting the director in hiring assistant high school coaches and sailing instructors for all junior programs (ie: Opti, Laser and 420).
• Providing coaching clinics as needed in Opti’s, Lasers, FJ’s and 420’s
• Helping manage the schedules of instructors and coaches.
• In collaboration with the dockmaster, maintaining coach boats and all equipment used for the program.
• Working with the program director to communicate with parents, sailors and club members in a positive and constructive manner to further the mission of the SSA Junior Program.
• Other activities to support SSA’s mission of being a membership organization that supports one-design sailing.

Position is supervised by the Junior Program Director who reports to an all-volunteer junior board. Salary and benefits would be commensurate with the requirements of the job as well as skills and experience of the candidate and can be based on a 9-10 month part-time schedule or full time, year ‘round schedule.
