Job Description
Milford Yacht Club is seeking a Head Instructor / Sailing Director and Sailing Instructors for its 2023 summer sailing program. Our program is a seven week program enrolling about 60 children from 5 to 17 years old. We have a Junior Buccaneers program for 5-7 year olds taking place on both land and sea. We offer opportunities for competitive racing and adventure sailing in Optimists, RS Fevas, Club 420s, and Lasers. We also offer a jr. big boat program and weekly sailing in our fleet of J/22s.

Our goal is to instill in our sailors a desire to pursue sailing opportunities throughout Long Island Sound and beyond by introducing them to all aspects of sailing from fun adventure sails to serious racing. All instructors teach Optimists in the morning and Advanced Optimists, Fevas, Club 420s, or Lasers in the afternoon. Stipends for regatta attendance and overtime pay are offered.

Dates of employment are mid-June to mid-August.

Housing is available with an MYC host family for instructors coming from out of the area.

Please email a cover letter and resume to Marianna Erenhouse at jr.sailing@milfordyachtclub.com.

Job Requirements
Current US Sailing Level 1 or higher instructor certification, CPR/First Aid, CT boating license or other state equivalent, and Safe Powerboat Handling certification are required.
