Job Description

Hampton Yacht Club has had an incredible run over the past two years rebuilding a traditional program dedicated to success under the guidance of a new Sailing Director. An HYC team member won the 2021 Optimist Fleet Race National Championship with many others in the top half of the fleet. HYC focuses on many disciplines but is currently searching for a RWB Optimist coach. This position is currently being advertised as part time with a hopeful track for becoming Full Time. The coach should be well-versed in the Optimist class to maintain a high level of education and training throughout the fall, winter, and spring for our young athletes and must be willing to help promote our large fleet of Greenies to the next level. Do you have the coaching potential to help us produce the next generation of champions? Please consider sending your resume to us and joining a fun and enthusiastic staff dedicated to the sport of sailing!

HYC offers competitive salaries and hourly pay based upon experience. The Brady Sailing Center offers classrooms, locker rooms, and all of the tools needed to support a fully functioning junior program. The club will help the coach find local accommodations as necessary. VISAs and travel costs may be negotiable. HYC is located at the southern end of the Chesapeake Bay; close to great beaches and restaurants downtown, not to mention the many fantastic sailing opportunities! YES, we want and expect you to SAIL too!
