Head Sailing Coach for SailATL, Acworth, Georgia

The Head Sailing Instructor will lead and manage the SailATL sailing program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational experience for all participants. This role includes coordinating daily operations, managing, and mentoring instructors, overseeing safety protocols, and driving program improvements to support the SailATL mission. The Head Sailing Instructor will work closely with the SailATL Program Director, and other staff and volunteers to plan and execute a dynamic program that fosters sailing skills, teamwork, and a love for the water. All coaching activities will use the Atlanta Yacht Club (AYC) facilities.

The work week is 35 to 40 hours with campers on site from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications:

Extensive sailing experience, with prior coaching or instructional roles at sailing programs or camps preferred.

Competitive sailing experience is highly desirable.

Current certifications in sailing instruction (e.g., US Sailing Level 1, 2, or 3 certification).

Current CPR, First Aid, and SafeSport certifications.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team and engage participants effectively.

Organizational and time-management skills to handle program coordination and event planning efficiently.

Ability to assess and adapt to varying skill levels to ensure safe and effective instruction.
