Job Description

HEAD SAILING INSTRUCTOR POSITION

The Lake George Club, located on Lake George, NY is looking for a Sailing Instructor for the 2020 season. Start date will be mid-June 2020 until Labor Day weekend.

This is a 40 hour a week position. Scheduled workdays are typically Tuesday through Saturday. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Incentives will be offered such as private lesson bookings.
 Lodging, Lunch and Dinners will be provided.

Preferred candidates will have experience teaching sailing and working with children. Level 1 sailing certification is mandatory and level 2 or higher is encouraged. Must have racing knowledge and a competitive spirit.

Mandatory background and drug test screening is required.

The main objectives of the instruction program are; to challenge those who are competitive sailors; to provide recreational sailors the skills needed to be safe on the water; to instill appreciation of nature and the lake to all students regardless of commitment to sailing, and above all to provide a safe and rewarding experience for all in the program.

  SAILING INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS

 

 The Lake George Club, located on Lake George, NY is looking for a few qualified sailing instructors for the 2020 season. Start date will be mid-June 2020 until the end of August.

 

We are looking for Sailing Instructors, US Sailing Level 1 certified instructors who are passionate about sailing and eager to share their knowledge with the students in the junior sailing program. We offer classes ranging from beginner Opti and FJ’s to race-team Opti, FJ, and offer keelboat opportunities as well.

 

The main objectives of the instruction program are:

-to challenge those who are competitive sailors

-to provide recreational sailors the skills needed to be safe on the water

-to instill appreciation of nature and the lake to all students regardless of commitment to sailing

-to provide a safe and rewarding experience for all in the program

 

The Lake George Club is a tight knit community that operates on the beautiful 32-mile-long Lake George that is “chock-full of…attractions, eateries and just about any form of recreation you can name…parasailing, fishing, diving, jet skiing, hiking, golfing, minigolf, horseback riding and more…the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, New York's largest amusement park. Hikers gravitate to the international trail system or Prospect Mountain, which offers panoramic views from the top; for an easier way up, hop on the tram. -Must be competent at driving a powerboat and a skilled dinghy sailor
