Job Description
BCSC is hiring a Head Coach for our competitive High School racing program. This position is part time and temporary.  The Head Coach will be responsible for running 3 practice sessions per week and coaching at regattas one weekend day per week. Practices are run from 4-7pm, (or dark), from 9/6 through 10/29. The Head Coach will be responsible to our Volunteer Board of Directors, and the Program Director specifically. 

The Head Coach will be responsible for developing the racing talent of our HS race program as well as managing the coaching activities of the Assistant Coach who will assist with practices and provide additional safety on the water. There is a dedicated staff of Volunteers that handle maintenance of facilities and boats.
 
Our High School double handed racing program is run in a fleet of 18 420's. In addition to on the water practice held at BCSC, the team travels to other Chesapeake Bay sites for regattas during the season. These events are all one day events held on Saturday or Sunday. The Head Coach or Assistant Coach will be responsible for coaching and general on site logistics during these events, which are also attended by several parent chaperones.
 
Founded in 1992, The Baltimore County Sailing Center is a nonprofit sailing center located at Rocky Point Park on the shore of Hawks Cove in Essex Maryland just northeast of Baltimore. BCSC is a community sailing center that is driven largely by the volunteers and donors that are dedicated to our mission of bringing people of all ages to the water and inspiring a life-long passion for boating.
 
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- and extensive background of competitive sailing with proven winning results
- at least 3 years of experience coaching in a successful high school or college program
- a proven track record of helping to develop youth sailing talent
- Current CPR Certification
- US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certification, (level 2 preferred)
