Job Description
Work a fulfilling job while having the summer of your life in Newport!
 
Hands-on instruction of children and adults with disabilities, teaching sailing skills and providing sailors with an “on water” experience appropriate to their level of experience, age, and disability.
 
Provide a meaningful and fun way to increase confidence and self-esteem for individuals with disabilities.
 
Ensure participant safety.
 
The philosophy of the program is not to just take participants for a “boat ride”; the philosophy of the program is to have every participant perform individual tasks to the extent possible, so they have a meaningful and positive learning experience, albeit physically, mentally or psychologically.
Job Requirements
-Age 16 or older.
-U.S. Sailing Small Boat Level 1 certified or equivalent, as determined by the organization.
-CPR/First Aid.
-Proven personal experience and achievement in the sport of sailing.
-Preference to those in good physical condition to help transfer individuals with disabilities to and from the boats.
-Ideally, experience with individuals with disabilities.
